Mod-Vil

Due the renovation of the Old Science building on campus, our office has been kindly asked to move out of our comfy home in Hector R. Skifter hall and move into ... a trailer. Excuse me, I mean, the Modular Village.

While I did get to upgrade my desk, there are things that will be missed in the coming year to year-and-a-half.

Like having an attractive workspace.

Or having a nice view of trees and squirrels that hop into your windowsill and peek in at you (they have a horrible peeping problem).

Not that the Modular Village is devoid of wildlife: In fact, at least two cats live under the trailer next door, and we often hear chattering and thumping sounds under our own trailer ... probably raccoons. Fun.

Sunsets

We get to see so many great sunsets at our place. Pictures never do them justice, especially crappy iPhone pictures. Someday I will paint one so we can always remember living here.

Painting the guest room

The guest room is now painted! We went with Behr Harvest Brown for the walls, and I found some sheets in a similar color at Target. The awesome teal pillow shams have arrived from Crate and Barrel, but no sign of the bedspread yet. Since this is going to be the Map Room, I picked up a fun red-orange map pillow at IKEA. I inherited a bed and dresser from my Grandma Krueger, and a coat of Old English really helped. Now we just have to get rid of the blaze orange that lingers on the inside of the bedroom door.
